Exercise 2.3 Same Model, Different Background

For this exercise I needed to capture 5 images with the same person but with different backgrounds.

Aside from my main job, I own a share in traditional pub which is run by our manager.  Our manager, Jude, works incredibly hard and has to cover a range of different skills to run the business on a day to day basis.  I decided to capture a set of images that show her going about her daily tasks.

This ambition led to Barrel Changing, Beer Pouring, and Stock Replenishment which are the main tasks that need to be done nearly every day.

After I had captured these images I felt that something was missing.  Partly I wanted to show how proud Jude is that she runs the pub, which occupies pride of place in the Market Square in Hitchin.  I realised that Jude stood outside the pub would hopefully capture this pride.

Finally, I also wanted to capture in some way just how hard work the job is.  This is manifested by Jude keeping a bed in the spare bedroom and capturing a quick snooze whenever possible. I realised that this would make a good fifth image.

Reflection

I am pleased with the images, they are all posed but do not appear so with perhaps ‘Stealing a snooze’ the exception although that is possibly just because I know.
